Co-created by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, the half-hour, Emmy-nominated single-camera comedy stars Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, Chris Elliott, Emily Hampshire, Jennifer Robertson, Noah Reid, Dustin Milligan, Sarah Levy, and Karen Robinson.
“Schitt’s Creek has become a pop culture phenomenon fueled by the most talented cast and the most passionate fans in all of television, and the final season is sure to be weekly must-watch TV as we see what happens to the Roses. It is gut-wrenching to say goodbye, but we know this final season will deliver even more of the heart and humor that has made the series one of the best ever,” said Brad Schwartz, president of Pop TV.
In the series, a wealthy couple — video store magnate Johnny (Eugene Levy) and his soap opera star wife Moira (O’Hara) — suddenly find themselves completely broke. With only one remaining asset, a small town called Schitt’s Creek, which the Roses bought years earlier as a joke, this once-wealthy couple must give up life as they know it. With their two spoiled children (Dan Levy, Murphy) in tow and their pampered lives behind them, the Rose family is forced to face their newfound poverty head-on and come together as a family to survive.
Executive producers include Eugene and Dan Levy, Andrew Barnsley, Fred Levy, and Ben Feigin. The series is commissioned by the CBC and is produced by Not A Real Company Productions Inc.
