American Horror Story: 1984, Season Premiere: In the summer of 1984, five friends escape Los Angeles to work as counselors at Camp Redwood. As they adjust to their new jobs, they quickly learn that the only thing scarier than campfire tales is the past coming to haunt you. The new season will premiere on Wednesday, September 18.

Disenchantment, Season 2 Premiere: In the animated series, viewers are whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools. In Season 2, Princess Bean will journey to hell in order to save Elfo and her kingdom. The second season will begin streaming on Friday, September 20.

First Wives Club, Series Premiere:  After neglecting their friendship, best friends Ari (Ryan Michelle Bathe), Hazel (Jill Scott), and Bree (Michelle Buteau) reunite to help each other through rough patches in their lives. Together, they navigate music superstar Hazel’s tabloid-ridden divorce, campaign manager Ari’s unsatisfying marriage to her political candidate husband, and orthopedic surgeon Bree’s cheating husband. Tired of always being the ones to make sacrifices in their lives, Ari, Hazel, and Bree vow to prioritize their friendship and have more fun. Along the way, the women learn that as long as they have each other, there’s nothing they can’t do. From executive producer Tracy Oliver, the new series will launch on the new BET+ streaming platform on Thursday, September 19.

Bigger, Series Premiere:  From Felisha Marye, Will Packer, and Devon Shepard, this ten-episode series follows a single-black-woman who is dealing with the threat of marriage to a boring-in-bed boyfriend and the sudden, random death of a college acquaintance. The tragedy drives her ambitious group of friends to take a deeper look at their stagnant lives, asking themselves—is there something bigger and better in life. The first three episodes will drop on the platform on Thursday, September 19, with subsequent episodes available once per week.

Renewals

South ParkComedy Central has renewed the long-running adult-animated series for another three seasons! The renewal will bring the series to 26 seasons with 327 episodes. Season 23 of the series will premiere on September 25 and will feature the series 300th episode.

Queen Sugar, Season 5: Following the Season 4 finale, Ava DuVernary’s contemporary drama has been renewed for a fifth season! Set in Louisiana, the OWN series chronicles the lives and loves of the estranged Bordelon siblings: Nova (Rutina Wesley), a worldly-wise journalist and activist; Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), the savvy wife and manager of a professional basketball star; and Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe), a formerly incarcerated young father in search of redemption. The fourth season is currently available to stream on Oprah.com. The first three seasons are also available to stream on Hulu.
