A Moody Christmas follows Sean Moody Sr. (Leary) and his family as they mingle with a variety of eccentric extended family members through the holidays. Each family member brings with them secrets and complications that add more stress to the already stressful yuletide fare.
Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Tad Quill will write the series, which will be co-produced by CBS TV Studios and Fox Entertainment.
“We have always wanted to work with Denis, whose signature gruffness, sarcasm and, dare I say it, heart make him the perfect fit for this role,” said Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox Entertainment. “The Moody family nails that indescribable mix of love, loyalty and absolute chaos, and we can’t wait to introduce our viewers to them all this holiday season.”

Thorn also revealed Fox’s intent to continue the series throughout the year and focus on the family “at important events throughout their lifecycle.”
Leary was last seen in the TV movie Erase, as well as the TV series Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll. He is known for his role in the popular series Rescue Me that lasted from 2004-2011.
