Stiller will executive produce the series alongside Nicky Weinstein via their Red Hour Productions, while Adam and Max Reid, who previously collaborated on Netflix’s Sneaky Pete, will pen the script. Lodge Kerrigan will direct the show, which the trade describes as “a high-octane, cliffhanger-driven, neo-noir thriller” featuring big rig cab driver Joe Hobbs (Messina),whose encounter with a disturbed stranger (Cyler) turns his life into a frantic “race against time, the police, and even more malevolent forces.”
Nick Santora (Scorpion) will oversee the series as show runner.
Messina has popped up in a number of TV shows and motion pictures, notably in Sharp Objects, The Mindy Project, The Newsroom, Argo, and Julie & Julia. He was recently cast as Victor Zsasz in the upcoming Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) alongside Margot Robbie.
