The plot for The Hunt has not yet been released, though the outlet notes that the project will explore escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in America. Nick Cuse (Maniac) is writing the script with Craig Zobel (Z for Zachariah, The Leftovers) directing for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions.
Jason Blum will produce alongside Lindelof through his White Rabbit banner. Cuse and Zobel will also serve as executive producers. Universal execs Erik Baiers, Jay Polidoro, and Mika Pryce will oversee the project for the studio. The Hunt is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 18.
Roberts has previously starred in television and movie projects including Scream Queens, American Horror Story, We’re the Millers and Paradise Hills. Her upcoming credits include UglyDolls, Holidate, and Anya’s Ghost, based on the graphic novel by Vera Brosgol.
Justin Hartley currently stars on NBC’s hit drama This Is Us. His previous credits also include Smallville, A Bad Moms Christmas, Revenge, The Young and the Restless, and Emily Owens M.D. Coming up, Hartley will appear in the comedy fantasy Little alongside Regina Hall and Marsai Martin, and the comedy Lexi.
