In the previous episode of Amazon’s The Boys, Stormfront killed Kenji with little concern for the black families in her way, and Homelander tried to force Annie to kill Hughie. In The Boys Season 2 Episode 4, Annie, Hughie, and Mother’s Milk went to Raleigh to find Liberty, and Butcher found Becca.
“To Fathers and Sugar”
After an encounter with Homelander questioning her loyalty, Annie met with Hughie. They’d let the truth about Compound V out, and it hadn’t helped. Mother’s Milk called Hughie to go to Raleigh to find Liberty, a Supe who disappeared in the 70s. Hughie convinced M.M. to let Annie tag along. At a diner on the drive down, Annie and M.M. bonded over their fathers. A car accident happened in front of them. Though Annie wanted to help, Hughie and M.M. had to remind her to keep a low profile.
At the address M.M. had for Liberty, they found Valerie, who thought they were from Vought. M.M. convinced her to speak with them after sharing how his lawyer father died fighting against Vought. Valerie told a story about witnessing her brother dying at the hands of Liberty in the 70s. Liberty had killed him after accusing him of being involved in a robbery and not caring because he was black. Valerie showed them a picture of Stormfront and claimed that was Liberty.
Kimiko was grieving her brother. Frenchie tried to make her feel better by kissing her, and she almost killed him. After seeing Anika, who told him to let her grieve, he found Kimiko. He stopped her from attacking Stormfront during a rally.
Out
Homelander couldn’t stand the situation the Seven was in. Homelander kicked A-Train out of the Seven. However, in an interview, Maria Menounos confronted him about the Seven’s lack of diversity. Homelander pointed to Black Noir, who didn’t identify with any race, and he outed Maeve. He was angry over memes about Stormfront and almost attacked her.
At night, he came home to Doppelganger shapeshifted into a seductive Stillwell. However, when he shifted into Homelander, he killed Doppelganger.
Supe Freak
Mallory gave Butcher Becca’s location. When he found her, they hid from the cameras in the Vought compound. They caught up and reconnected. Butcher promised to get her and Ryan out. She’d told Butcher that Homelander spared him because she threatened to kill himself in front of Ryan and blame him. When Butcher went to help them escape, Becca hadn’t brought Ryan and refused to go with him. She knew that Butcher would accept Ryan.
Interviews
Throughout the episode, we saw interviews with beautiful women talking about love. Carol and The Deep were interviewing them. They were members of The Collective, and he needed a wife to help him rehabilitate his image to get back into the Seven. While The Deep preferred the sexy Gianna, Carol told him he was marrying the more wholesome Elizabeth.
