Dateline NBC will re-examine the brutal murder of Ken Juedes that took place in August 2006. Titled “The Trouble at Dill Creek Farm,” the episode will reveal shocking details about the crime and who killed Juedes. The episode, which will air on the network on Friday, July 19, at 9 p.m. ET, will also shed light on how authorities solved the case and believed that someone close to Juedes was responsible for his death.
Reportedly, Ken Juedes’ wife, Cindy Schulz-Juedes, went to her neighbor’s house and told them that her husband’s chest was covered with blood. After authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered that Juedes endured two gunshot wounds. According to Oxygen, one shot was in the chest, while another one was in the back. Schulz-Juedes told the detectives that she hadn’t slept inside the house and didn’t know what happened. Moreover, a doctor diagnosed her with a mild sinus infection, and that’s why she slept in the camper.
As the investigations continued, police named Schulz-Juedes as the person of interest. However, for more than 13 years, they couldn’t catch the culprit. In December 2019, police finally had a breakthrough in the case and arrested Cindy Schulz-Juedes for the murder of Ken Juedes. At the time, law enforcement officials said that she gave inconsistent statements during the interrogation. Additionally, officials stated that Juedes’ life insurance policies served as a strong motive for his murder, reported Wausau Daily Herald.
How was Ken Juedes’ murder case solved?
In October 2021, Cindy Schulz-Juedes went to trial for the murder of Ken Juedes. During the trial, prosecutors said that she killed her husband because of financial reasons. Per FOX11, Juedes had several insurance policies totaling more than $900,000. Meanwhile, the defense claimed that their client was innocent and that a group of five men killed Ken Juedes. Throughout the trial, Schulz-Juedes maintained her innocence and said that she didn’t kill her husband.
However, in October 2021, the jury found her guilty of being a party to the crime of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of her husband. The jury also found her guilty of resisting or obstructing an officer. As a result, the court sentenced her to life in prison, reported FOX11. However, in July 2023, prison officials found Cindy Schulz-Juedes unresponsive in her cell and died because of head trauma. Per WSAW, authorities charged another fellow prison inmate with Schulz-Juedes’ murder.
Dateline NBC will air the new episode on Friday, July 19, at 9 p.m. ET.
