“Road Trip Killer” is the premiere episode of the fifth season of In Pursuit With John Walsh. It will follow the case of fugitive Steven Leifeste, who was named one of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office filed multiple arrest warrants for Steven Leisfeste in 2021. They included a misdemeanor warrant for probation violation and avoiding arrest. In 2022, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office filed another warrant owing to two counts of sexual assault of a child against him. Prior to that, in 2012, Steven Leifeste was convicted of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and failure to stop and render aid. He was then sentenced to four years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison.

However, Steven Leifeste was on the run and had been wanted since March 2021. He made it onto the list of Texas’s 10 most wanted. The government also announced a cash reward for anyone who came forward with relevant information about Steven Leifeste’s whereabouts. His photograph and details were circulated. His then most recent photograph from 2013 was released. He was a 5 feet 11 inches tall man and weighed 215 pounds. He was reported to have tattoos on his back and his shoulder, Click 2 Houston reported.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force caught and arrested Steven Leifeste on January 26, 2024. However, the arrest was not preceded by any relevant tips from the public, so no Crime Stopper reward was given to anyone.
“Road Trip Killer” will air on ID on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 10 p.m. ET. It will feature John Walsh and his son Callahan Walsh who will be exploring the case of Steven Leifeste and Larry Hicks, respectively. The episode will mark the premiere of the show’s fifth season.
