David Parker Ray aka Toy Box Killer was a suspected serial killer who received a more than 223-year sentence for various crimes. This New Mexico resident took part in unspeakable acts like torture, kidnapping and rape. However, many of his close accomplices even believed that he killed several women.
The police suspected that he took the lives of at least 60 individuals. Furthermore, reports suggest that even though he resided in Elephant Butte, New Mexico, his victims were mostly from Arizona and New Mexico. David Parker Ray died on May 28, 2002, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The name ‘Toy Box Killer’ derived from the fact that David Parker Ray performed sexual torture acts in a semi-trailer which he called his ‘Tox Box’. In addition, he even soundproofed this trailer, kidnapped between five to six women a year, and held them captive for months. David apparently tortured his victims with surgical instruments. Furthermore, All That’s Interesting states that his wife would also be willingly involved in his hideous actions.
Toy Box Killer: How many confirmed victims did David Parker Ray have?
David Parker Ray had zero confirmed kills because officials could not discover any bodies. After he was done torturing his victims, he used to abandon them by the side of the road. Furthermore, before abandoning them, he drugged them with barbiturates to make them forget about the entire ordeal.
One of his victims, Cynthia Jaramillo, was interviewed by KRQE in 2022. She stated what happened to her could have been prevented if she simply stuck by her rule of not getting into an RV. She stated, “I don’t know what was going through my head that day, but I broke all my rules right there. When we get to the back of the RV, he pulls out a badge and throws handcuffs on my wrist. I was like, wait…no, no, this isn’t right you ain’t a cop.”
David Parker Ray was born on November 6, 1939, to Cecil Leland Ray and Nettie Opal Parker. At the time of his death, he was 62 years old.
