ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive look at Wandering Planet Toys’ upcoming 1:12 scale Laurel & Hardy action figures, based on the iconic comedy team.
The figures are the first ever 1:12 scale, fully articulated figures based on the legendary Golden Age of Hollywood duo, and comes just ahead of the duo’s 100th anniversary.
The 6-inch deluxe figures come with display stands, 5 pairs of interchangeable hands, two different facial expression portraits, and the duo’s iconic bowler hats as well. Specific accessories include a film clap board for Oliver Hardy and a paper bag accessory for Stan Laurel.
How to get the Laurel & Hardy action figures?
Wandering Planet Toys are releasing the figures via a Kickstarter campaign. The campaign is live now, and allows fans to purchase either Full-Color versions of the figures, or classic Black & White. A special “Studio Special” rewards tier is also available, which features both figure sets, as well as an exclusive Laurel & Hardy 100th Anniversary enamel pin, and a Laurel & Hardy metal lunchbox exclusive to the Kickstarter.
“Stan Laurel, the British vaudevillian from a theatrical family, and Oliver “Babe” Hardy, the class clown from rural Georgia, both landed in early Hollywood with dreams of being in movies and developed notable careers on their own,” said Wandering Planet Co-founder Gavin Hignight. “But when they started working together as a duo in Hal Roach’s short films, their legend was born.”
The duo of Laurel and Hardy are often remembered as one of the most iconic comedy duos of all time. The duo were largely famous from the 1920s-1950s, and were known for their slapstick comedy. Throughout their careers together, the duo appeared in 107 films.
