The popular Thai BL My Stand-In released its mid-series episode 6 on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 8 p.m. ICT on iQIYI. The drama follows Joe’s (Poom Phuripan Sapsangsawat) complicated journey as he gets a new life in another Joe’s body after his unfortunate accident. Meanwhile, Ming (Up Poompat Iam-samang) waits for the old Joe.
My Stand-In episode 6 begins with Sol catching the new Joe breaking into the old Joe’s house. However, when the former gets close enough, the latter hits him on the head and escapes. Later, Joe’s mother’s condition worsens. Furthermore, Wut visits Joe at the hospital, who reveals that his mother has pulmonary edema. The former comforts the latter and says his mom will be okay.
Elsewhere, Sol and Ming clash again after the former snuck into Joe’s place. When Sol claims Ming only lives there to redeem himself as he’s the cause of Joe’s death, the latter retorts and says he’s still alive. Sol then informs Wut about the “thief” he caught at Joe’s place, while Ming shares that some cash and credit cards are gone. The latter then says he’ll hire a private investigator to look into the matter. Meanwhile, Joe overhears them talking.
Furthermore, Joe is informed about the medical expenses for his mother at the hospital. As he can’t afford the expensive treatment, Joe calls Joy to participate in the tryout for Tong’s stand-in. However, she says that he already has a stand-in. Later, when the stand-in’s stunt scene doesn’t satisfy Tong, Joe jumps in to take his place. Meanwhile, Ming also gets there and watches Joe shoot the scene. Impressed by him, Ming tells Tong that Joe should be his stand-in. Later, Joy gives Joe the contract. Ming asks Joe, who has taught him all the moves. The latter answers that he likes watching Tong’s movies. Ming then asks Tong to join the new film with him.

Joe then gets caught eavesdropping on Ming’s conversation with the investigator. He covers up by inviting the latter to a crew party. Meanwhile, Tong joins in too. Later at the restaurant, Ming intervenes when Joe gets hit on by a co-star. The former brings Joe over to his and Tong’s table. Then, to entertain the others, Joe makes drinks for everyone. As Ming gets drunk, his secretary asks for Joe’s help to carry the former to his condo.
Furthermore, a drunk Ming kisses Joe, as the latter reminds him of the old Joe. The former then says, “I miss you so much.” After tucking Ming in the bed, Joe looks in the mirror and is reminded that he’s in a different body now. Later, Joe returns to his place to wipe off his traces from earlier, ahead of the investigator’s visit. The next day, the investigator suspects the thief had visited again to destroy the evidence.
Elsewhere, the doctor informs Joe that his mother has septicemia due to kidney failure and will require dialysis every week. Later, Joe informs Wut about his mother’s condition. When the latter offers to lend him money, the former refuses and asks for more work instead. Meanwhile, Ming follows Joe to the hospital as Jim informs the former about the latter’s mother’s expensive treatment.
Furthermore, after finding out about Joe’s urgency for work due to his mother’s condition, Sol visits him. Wut had earlier asked the latter to cast the former in his new music video. However, Sol had turned it down. Sol offers to lend money to Joe for his mother’s medical bills, but he refuses. The former then offers him a new job.
My Stand-In episode 6 recap: Poom Phuripan agrees to be a stand-in
Ming, waiting outside the hospital, calls Joe, but the latter refuses to talk to him. Ming then stops Joe and offers to give him a ride home. While dropping him home, Ming asks Joe about the night the latter took the former home when he was drunk. After questioning if something had happened, Ming kisses Joe again. When the latter pushes him and questions what he’s doing, Ming says he’s only trying to remember why he did so in the first place.
Furthermore, Ming offers to give Joe any role he wants and make him famous if he agrees to stay with him. When Joe questions why, Ming says he’s like someone he used to know and wants Joe to be his stand-in. After kicking Ming out of his house, Joe rethinks his financial struggles and finds himself in a helpless position.
Joe then runs out and asks Ming for five million Baht and a house for his mom in exchange for one year of his life. The episode ends with Ming kissing Joe.
