However, he turns his life around after spending time with and becoming close to Lin (Film Rachanun Mahawan), the class president.
Episode 1 of My Precious begins with Tong returning from Bangkok to his old town in the year 2012. He reminisces about his teenage years as he visits the school and remembers the time spent with Lin. The episode then takes viewers back to the year 1999 in Sukhothai and introduces 16-year-old Tong and his troublemaker friends. Tong continues to narrate that they came to school either to play or to meet the girl they all fell for, Lin, the best student in the grade.
The My Precious episode then introduces the individual lives of the five friends and their families, Pao’s (Euro Thanaset Suriyapornchaikul) mother’s food shop where the boys ate regularly, Bank’s (Chimon Wachirawit Ruangwiwat) diligent parents, Mai’s (Neo Trai Nimtawat) close bond with his grandma, Dong’s (Ohm Pawat Chittsawangdee) family’s rice shop, and carefree Tong.
From sneaking out of school to constantly pulling pranks, the group was famous for causing all kinds of trouble. However, they always used to get caught by Teacher Sommai. Things escalated one day when Tong and Dong pulled a prank during class and pretended to get possessed. However, Lin saw right through their act. While the teacher and the rest of the students were afraid to get close to them, Lin put an end to the prank by kicking Tong and Dong.
My Precious The Series episode 1 recap: Boys try to impress Lin
As their punishment, Teacher Sommai ordered the two to change their seats. Tong was told to sit in front of Lin, while Dong was moved in front of Pao. The teacher also asked Lin to get Tong to pay attention in class. During their class, Lin told Tong that he shouldn’t be the one complaining about the punishment. Then, the two started bickering as Lin expressed her agitation over taking care of Tong in class.
After school, the boys got on their motorbikes but were stopped by Lin and Ja-Oh as they were walking back home. Dong teased Lin and asked her to get in his backseat while Bank did the same. However, Ja-Oh chased them away. Pao, who had fallen behind the group, was stopped by the girls and was told that his friends were being ‘childish’ and that girls wouldn’t like it if they did it. Lin answered she never liked boys like that. Pao asked her what kind of boy she liked. To that, Lin said she wouldn’t like a boy who was “dumber than her.”
Tong continues to narrate his school life. After school, the good kids of the neighborhood would go to Auntie Phon’s milk shop. However, as Tong says, the “trashy boys” like them would go to Uncle Haeb’s salon to buy adult videos.
As all the boys had a crush on Lin, each one of them had their tricks to impress her. Mai used magic tricks, and Bank tried to look cool with his basketball skills and corny pickup lines. On the other hand, Pao believed in the theory that girls like mature guys. Dong thought girls would like a boy who could play an instrument and tried to impress Lin by playing the flute outside her window. However, his choice of songs was questionable. As the episode ends, Tong says he did not use tricks like that to win over Lin.
