John Carpenter has announced Lost Themes IV: Noir with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies also returning for the new album of original music.
Lost Themes IV: Noir Debut Track
Coming out on May 3, 2024 via Sacred Bones, the group will bring us a news et of synthy moody scores to films that never were and the announcement came with a music video for a track off the album called My Name Is Death. You can watch that below.
It certainly leans into that Noir title with a pure homage to Film Noir of the 1940s and 50s, such as The Big Sleep and Double Indemnity.
The Carpenters and Davies are frequent collaborators, working together on John’s Anthology albums, and the scores for the recent Halloween movies. They’ve also toured together.
While John Carpenter may not be keen on the director’s chair as we near the 50th anniversary of his feature-length directorial debut, his passion for music is keeping a part of that legacy in the public eye all the same.
You can pre-order and pre-save the album on various services at the link here.
