MGM and Pantelion Films have provided ComingSoon.net with an exclusive Overboard clip, which sets the tone of the relationship between Anna Faris (Mom) and Eugenio Derbez’s (La Familia P. Luche) characters.
In the May 4 release, two separate worlds come together when a handsomely rich playboy, Leonardo (Derbez), suffers a head injury that wipes his memory and leaves him in the car of his disgruntled former employee, Kate (Faris).
Overboard is Metro-Goldyn-Mayer Pictures and Pantelion Films’ remake of the 1987 romantic comedy of the same name. In a splashy new twist, Leonardo is a selfish, spoiled, rich playboy from Mexico’s richest family and Kate, a working-class single mom of three hired to clean Leonardo’s luxury yacht, collide. After unjustly firing Kate and refusing to pay her, Leonardo falls overboard when partying too hard and wakes up on the Oregon coast with amnesia. Kate shows up at the hospital and, to get payback, convinces Leonardo he is her husband and puts him to work — for the first time in his life. At first miserable and inept, Leonardo slowly settles in. Eventually, he earns the respect of his new “family” and co-workers. But, with Leonardo’s billionaire family hot on their trail and the possibility of his memory returning at any moment, will their new family last or will Leonardo finally put the clues together and leave them for good?
Overboard is directed by Rob Greenberg and written by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Leslie Dixon. Derbez, Benjamin Odell, and Bob Fisher are producing, and Brendan Ferguson is executive producing. The cast also includes Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) and John Hannah (Four Weddings and a Funeral).
