From stand-up comedian/actor (The Big Sick, Rough Night) turned writer/director Bo Burnham, A24 has released the trailer and poster for Eighth Grade, the middle school comedy starring Elsie Fisher (McFarland, USA, Despicable Me 1 & 2). The festival darling charmed audiences at Sundance and South by Southwest and will hit theaters nationwide this July. Check out the Eighth Grade trailer below, along with the poster in the gallery!
In the film, a teenager named Kayla (Fisher) tries to survive the last week of her disastrous eighth-grade year before leaving to start high school. The film also stars Josh Hamilton (13 Reasons Why) and Emily Robinson (Transparent).
Produced by Eli Bush, Scott Rudin, Christopher Storer and Lila Yacoub, Eighth Grade will debut in theaters July 13.
