Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the first trailer for the Batman anime film, titled Batman Ninja. You can watch it in the player below along with the announcement video that was previously shown only at the New York Comic Con!
No official plot description was released for the title, but it would appear the film centers on a time-displaced Batman who finds himself in feudal Japan alongside not only his allies like Alfred, Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Robin, but also his greatest enemies, including The Joker, Harley Quinn, Penguin, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and even Gorilla Grodd.
Directed by Jumpei Mizusaki, Batman Ninja features a screenplay by Kazuki Nakashima with character design by Takashi Okazaki, music by Yugo Kanno, and animation production by Kamikaze Douga.
Koichi Yamadera (Dragon Ball Super, Ghost in the Shell) provides the voice of Batman for the original Japanese cast with Wataru Takagi as The Joker, Ai Kakuma as Catwoman, and Rie Kugimiya as Harley Quinn.
It’s unclear when the film will be released in America, but Batman Ninja will make its way into Japanese movie theaters in 2018.
