The Batman theatrical rerelease date has been set for the Matt Reeves-directed superhero movie starring Robert Pattinson as the titular caped crusader. This is in celebration of the upcoming debut of the movie’s spin-off series, The Penguin.
In addition to The Batman’s theatrical rerelease, moviegoers will get a chance to see an exclusive behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the making of The Penguin, which will debut on HBO on Thursday, September 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. It also will be available to stream on Max.
When is The Batman theatrical rerelease date?
The Batman will be back on the big screen for one night at AMC Theatres on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. The international rerelease date has yet to be announced.
“More than a year of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies—Alfred, Lt. James Gordon—amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens,” the synopsis for The Batman reads. “When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld.”
Starring alongside Pattinson are Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot/Penguin, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, and Peter McDonald as William Kenzie, among others.
Farrell will reprise his role for The Penguin, which will consist of eight episodes.
The Batman hits AMC Theaters on August 28.
