Connie Nielsen plays Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, in this Friday’s Wonder Woman
While Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment introduced Gal Gadot‘s heroine herself in last year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this friday’s Wonder Woman brings to the big screen several key supporting characters that played important roles in the comics over the past 75 years. Chief among them is Connie Nielsen, who plays Hippolyta, ruler of Themyscira and Queen of the Amazons. Sitting down with ComingSoon.net, Nielsen explains that her performance is based as much on fact as it is on fiction. She also talks about working with director Patty Jenkins and what made filming Wonder Woman an experience like none other.

Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.
Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine (Star Trek), Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Netflix‘s House of Cards), Ewen Bremner (Exodus: Gods and Kings, Snowpiercer), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator, Nymphomaniac: Vol. I) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
