Watch Oscar Isaac face off against Garrett Hedlund in the Mojave trailer
Having already starred together in Joel and Ethan Coen’s Inside Llewyn Davis, Oscar Isaac (Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Garrett Hedlund (TRON Legacy, Pan) are back for Mojave. Written and directed by Academy Award winner William Monahan (The Departed), the film has today released its trailer via ET. Check out the Mojave trailer in the player below!
From an original screenplay by Monahan, Mojave aims to offer an intense, classical thriller about a desolated, violent artist, Tom, (Hedlund) who escapes into the desert and encounters, instead of solitude, what he was really looking for: a worthy antagonist, in the form of a homicidal, chameleon-like drifter, Jack (Isaac).
The Mojave cast also includes Walton Goggins, Mark Wahlberg and Dania Ramirez. The film was picked up for distribution earlier this year by A24. Although it won’t hit theaters until January, DIRECTV will premiere the film December 3.
Monahan also serves as a producer on Mojave alongside Atlas Independent’s William Green. Atlas’ Andy Horwitz and Alan Glazer are executive producers, as is Henceforth Pictures’ Justine Suzanne Jones.
“Working with Chuck Roven and Atlas is perfection from my point of view, and has already led to a brilliant ongoing relationship,” said Monahan when the project was first announced back in 2012. “It’s the strongest possible company and they’re specifically in the business of protecting quality work. Atlas and I have decided to do a lot of work together and here we go.”
“This script is Monahan at his absolute finest,” said Atlas Independent producer William Green. “We’re honored that he chose Atlas Independent for this collaboration.”
