Paramount delivered the first Mission Impossible 5 trailer yesterday with the promise of a full trailer today and it has arrived as the first full look at Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation is directly below.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Rogue Nation sees Tom Cruise back as Ethan Hunt as he and his team take on a mission to eradicate the Syndicate, an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF.
I couldn’t help but see the first trailer as it played all over television yesterday and it seemed a little like a mash-up of all the other Mission: Impossible films to this point. There are the massive action set pieces, complete with the motorcycle chase mimicking the car chase at the beginning of Mission: Impossible 2 and, of course, the high-flying Cruise on the actual wing of an airplane during takeoff and landing. Then the overall plot seems a lot like what this franchise has been exploring since the beginning, which is the idea someone is trying to take down the IMF. All of this to say… I can’t wait.
Joining Cruise are Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris and Simon McBurney.
