Woody Allen‘s To Rome with Love (aka The Wrong Picture, aka The Bop Decameron, aka Nero Fiddled) now has a trailer as its curious path to the big screen continues. I say curious because it almost feels as if this film was shot in a matter of two days and is finally here as we frequently get so few details on Allen’s films until we have a trailer, but this one seems to have been covered with regularity all throughout production.
Then again, perhaps it’s because Allen’s Midnight in Paris enjoyed a year-long lovefest after debuting at Cannes last year to the point Allen’s name never left our consciousness. Or it’s because it’s gone through so many title changes as evidenced above.
Either way, To Rome with Love is set to hit theaters on June 22 and I fully expect it to play at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The film is described as a story about a number of people in Italy — some American, some Italian, some residents, some visitors — and the romances and adventures and predicaments they get into. The cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Riccardo Scamarcio, Judy Davis, Greta Gerwig, Alison Pill, Ornella Muti, Flavio Parenti and Allen himself.
