Sony Pictures Classics has today debuted, via EW, the trailer for Woody Allen’s latest film, Irrational Man. Check it out in the player below!
SPC’s eighth teaming with the legendary director, Irrational Man stars Joaquin Phoenix (Inherent Vice, The Master) as Abe Lewis, a psychology professor who, in the midst of trying to deal with his own depression and alcoholism, begins to have his life turned around after meeting one of his student, played by Emma Stone (The Help, The Amazing Spider-Man). Stone also headlined Allen’s last film, the romantic comedy Magic in the Moonlight, opposite Colin Firth, Marcia Gay Harden, Hamish Linklater and Jacki Weaver.
Also starring Jamie Blackley (If I Stay, Snow White and the Huntsman) and Parker Posey (A Mighty Wind, The House of Yes), Irrational Man is set to debut at Cannes and will then head to theaters domestically July 17.
“Sony Classics and I have a good working relationship,” says Allen. “I like the way they handle my movies, very special, very classy and I always hope my films live up to their expectations.”
A Gravier Productions film, producers on Irrational Man include Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum and Edward Walson.
