Produced by Michael Mann and directed by his daughter, Ami Canaan Mann, The Texas Killing Fields is set to premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival where it popped up as part of their line-up, virtually out of the blue. The film stars Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chloe Moretz, Stephen Graham, Jessica Chastain and Jason Clarke.
The story is set in an area of coastal Texas dotted with oil refineries known to locals as “The Fields.” There, a homicide detective (Worthington) fights two sets of fierce killers to save the life of a street kid named Little Anne (Moretz).
With the film premiering in Venice it only makes sense an Italian trailer is the first to surface. Have a look below and see if it piques your interest. Anchor Bay Films has picked it up for distribution, though a release date has not yet been announced.
