What is What Remains about?
“During the 1990s, at a Scandinavian psychiatric hospital, a man known as Mads Lake confessed to multiple murders and was convicted. However, the uneasy triumvirate of Mads, therapist Anna Rudebeck and policeman Soren Rank, all have a vested interest in unearthing the truth, as a deepening co-dependency threatens to consume them all,” reads the synopsis.
Inspired by true events, What Remains is directed by Ran Huang from a screenplay he co-wrote with Megan Everett-Skarsgard. The film also stars Gustaf Skarsgård as Mads Lake, Jussi Kostamo as an investigator, Éva Magyar as Lillemor, Antti Luusuaniemi as Dr. Jepsen, Milka Ahlroth as Elin, Darren McStay as Martin, Henrikki Haavisto as Eric Gunnarson, and more. It is executive produced by Ellen Eliasoph, Eleonora Granata-Jenkinson, Philip Qu, and Cat Villiers, with Huang, Jessica Chen, Jupe Louhelainen, and Timo Vierimaa set as producers.
