Sony Pictures Classics has unveiled a new trailer and poster for We Grown Now, a drama film starring Jurnee Smollett, Blake Cameron James, Gian Knight Ramirez, and S. Epatha Merkerson.
We Grown Now is written and directed by Minhal Baig, and follows the story of two young friends who grow up in Chicago. The film is set to release in theaters in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago on April 19, 2024, with a wider release currently planned for May 10, 2024.

What is We Grown Now About?
“In 1992 Chicago, as Michael Jordan solidifies himself as a champion, a story of two young legends in their own right begins,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “As wide-eyed and imaginative best friends Malik and Eric traverse the city, looking to escape the mundaneness of school and the hardships of growing up in public housing, their unbreakable bond is challenged when tragedy shakes their community just as they are learning to fly.”
We Grown Now is produced by Joe Pirro and Baig. Executive producers are Jeff Skoll and Anikah McLaren for Participant, James Schamus for Symbolic Exchange, Carrie Holt de Lama, and Jurnee Smollett.
