Hulu has revealed the official Mother/Android trailer for Mattson Tomlin’s forthcoming feature directorial debut film, starring Chloë Grace Moretz and Algee Smith. The sci-fi thriller will be available for streaming on Friday, December 17.
The video, which you can check out below, highlights the perilous journey of a young pregnant woman as she tries to escape to the only safe place in the country while fending off rogue human-like robots.

Mother/Android stars Chloë Grace Moretz (Shadow in the Cloud, Kick-Ass) as Georgia, Algee Smith (Judas And The Black Messiah, Euphoria) as Sam, and Raul Castillo (We The Animals).

“Set in the near future, the sci-fi thriller drama follows Georgia and her boyfriend Sam through their treacherous journey of escape as their country is caught in an unexpected war with artificial intelligence,” reads the synopsis. “Days away from the arrival of their first child, they must face No Man’s Land – a stronghold of the android uprising, in hopes of reaching safety before giving birth.”

Mother/Android is written and directed by Mattson Tomlin (Project Power, The Batman), who loosely based the story on his birth parents ‘experience. 6th & Idaho’s Matt Reeves, Adam Kassan, and Rafi Crohn are executive producing, with Charles Miller and Miramax’s Bill Block serving as producers.
Moretz gained recognition for her role as Hit-Girl in Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass films which also starred Nicolas Cage, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Jim Carrey. Her other notable film credits include Let Me In, Hugo, Dark Shadows, Carrie, If I Stay, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, and Suspiria.
