Netflix has released the official Bruised trailer for the forthcoming mixed martial arts drama film, starring Oscar winner Halle Berry in her feature directorial debut. The film is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on November 17, followed by its streaming release on November 24.
The video, which you can check out below along with the poster, features a disgraced former MMA star who gets another shot at redemption with the arrival of the son she gave up years ago. Now, it’s up to her to fight her way to reclaim the power she once had in and out of the ring.

Bruised is directed by actress-turned-director Halle Berry from a screenplay written by Michelle Rosenfarb. Joining the acclaimed actress are Adrian Lenox, Danny Boyd, Shamier Anderson (Awake), Adan Canto (Designated Survivor), Sheila Atim (The Pale Horse), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Dune), and UFC champion Valentina Shevchenko.
“Jackie Justice is a mixed martial arts fighter who leaves the sport in disgrace,” reads the official synopsis. “Down on her luck and simmering with rage and regret years after the fight, she’s coaxed into a brutal underground fight by her manager and boyfriend Desi and grabs the attention of a fight league promoter who promises Jackie a life back in the octagon. But the road to redemption becomes unexpectedly personal when Manny — the son she gave up as an infant — shows up at her doorstep.”

Bruised is executive produced by Erica Lee. The fight choreography is done by the team behind the John Wick franchise fight scenes.
