Focus Features and MSNBC Films has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming documentary The Way I See It centered on former Chief Official White House Photographer Pete Souza as he finds his voice through the power of photos in two presidencies. The trailer can be viewed in the player below!

Based on the New York Times #1 bestsellers Obama: An Intimate Portrait and Shade: A Tale of Two Presidents comes an unprecedented look behind the scenes of two of the most iconic Presidents in American History, Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan, as seen through the eyes of renowned photographer Pete Souza. As the Official White House Photographer, Souza was an eyewitness to the unique and tremendous responsibilities of being the most powerful person on Earth. The film is helmed and produced by Dawn Porter, the winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival for her pro-choice documentary Trapped, with Oscar and Emmy-winning producer Evan Hayes (Free Solo), Oscar and Emmy winner Laura Dern (Marriage Story) and Jayme Lemons attached to produce via the duo’s Jaywalker Pictures banner in association with Platform One Media.

The Way I See It was originally set to have its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival before it was cancelled due to the global pandemic and will instead hit select theaters this September.
