Bradley Cooper to Play Lance Armstrong?

The day after Lance Armstrong’s confession to Oprah that he used banned substances throughout his cycling career, it was reported that Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions had picked up the rights to Juliet Macur’s upcoming book on the situation, titled “Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.”

This weekend, Star Trek Into Darkness and now Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that he is talking to Oscar-nominated star of Silver Linings Playbook, Bradley Cooper, about the role.

Backstage at the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday, Abrams said that “[Cooper] sent me an email and we’ve been talking.” Cooper, meanwhile, previously told BBC News that he “would be interested in [playing Armstrong]. I think he’s fascinating. What a fascinating character.”.

Cooper worked together with Abrams on “Alias” opposite Jennifer Garner, who can also be seen in the interview segment below.
