Nicholas Brendon, Amber Chaney Join the Cast of The Morningside Monster

Blue Dusk Productions has announced that Nicholas Brendon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Criminal Minds”) and Amber Chaney (The Hunger Games, “The Walking Dead”) have joined the cast of the upcoming feature thriller, The Morningside Monster. Production will commence in late November around Atlanta, GA and Lawrenceville, GA. “We are extremely excited to add the immense talents of Nicholas and Amber to our already extraordinary cast,” said writer/producer Jayson Palmer.

Brendon and Chaney join previously announced stars, Robert Pralgo (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Revolution”), Tiffany Shepis (“The Violent Kind,” “The Frankenstein Syndrome”) and Catherine Taber (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars: Detours”). Brendon is well known among genre fans for his iconic portrayal of Xander Harris in the hit show, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and as Kevin Lynch on the long-running procedural, “Criminal Minds.” Chaney is known to genre fans for the roles of Lavinia, the Avox Girl, in the blockbuster hit The Hunger Games and Annette Greene on the “The Walking Dead.”

The Morningside Monster unfolds around the discovery of a brutally murdered corpse in the woods of the otherwise-peaceful small town of Morningside, NJ. Racing against time, Sheriff Tom Haulk and his deputy, Klara Austin, embark on a desperate journey to catch the killer, pitting them against friends, enemies and even each other. Brendon will play Mark Matthews, the history teacher at the local high school. Chaney will portray his wife, Abby, a town fixture known for her strength in the face of adversity.

The script is written by Palmer, directed by Chris Ethridge of the award winning “Survivor Type” and produced by Palmer, Ethridge, and Michael H. Harper.
