New Line Cinema has plans to remake the 1973 mystery The Last of Sheila, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Beau Flynn, whose credits include Choke, Journey to the Center of the Earth and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, is attached to produce.
The original film, directed by Herbert Ross, was written by Anthony Perkins and Stephen Sondheim and involves a deadly game aboard a yacht, played by a Hollywood group who, one year before, attended a party during which their host’s wife was killed in a hit-and-run.
News of the project arrives on the heels of the announcement that Flynn will produce the somewhat similarly themed Murder Mystery with Charlize Theron attached to star.
No other talent is currently involved with Sheila, but check back for details on the big screen remake as soon as they become available.
