Nearly eight years after Will Ferrell’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy entered the annals as a comedy classic, he and long-time collaborator Adam McKay have finally gotten the green light to make the sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which will bring back Ferrell’s character as well as some of his fellow newsmen.
At the time, Steve Carell hadn’t even begun his stint on the hit show “The Office” or starred in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, but it was clear we were seeing a comedy star in the making as his dimwitted weatherman Brick Tamland stole many a scene from his better-known co-star. This may be why fans of the original movie are probably just as excited to see Brick’s return.
At the junket for Lorene Scafaria’s Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, in which Carell plays an insurance salesman facing armageddon with his flaky neighbor, played by Keira Knightley, ComingSoon.net asked Carell if he’s ready to return to such a wacky character as Brick, especially after playing more serious and grounded roles in films such as “Seeking a Friend” and last year’s Crazy, Stupid, Love.
