Variety is reporting that Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck) and Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, Difficult People) are set to join star Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect films and The Twilight Saga) in The Walt Disney Studios‘ live-action female Santa Claus movie Nicole.
The story for the family comedy revolves around Santa’s daughter (Kendrick), who is forced to take over the family business as the new jolly ol’ Saint Nic (get it?) when her father decides to retire and brother ends up getting cold feet prior to his first big Christmas Eve flight.
The script for Nicole comes from Miss Congeniality writer Marc Lawrence, who will also direct. Susanne Todd is producing, while Louie Provost is overseeing for Disney.
Eichner, whose Billy on the Street series was just cancelled by TruTV, is currently voicing Timon in Jon Favreau’s live-action The Lion King for Disney. Hader is currently filming the hitman comedy series Barry for HBO, and has been frequently rumored to be of interest to play the grown-up version of Finn Wolfhard’s Richie Tozier in IT: Chapter 2, although nothing official has come of the rumors.
