Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy and Paramount Out of Triple Frontier

Paramount has dropped Triple Frontier, and Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy are out

Paramount has just dropped the upcoming filmĀ Triple Frontier, according to Deadline. Stars Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy are also out of the picture.Ā Triple Frontier was supposed to begin production this month. The film has been trying to get off the ground for almost a decade.Ā J.C. Chandor,Ā the Oscar-nominated writer and director behind Margin Call, All Is Lost andĀ A Most Violent Year,Ā isĀ directing, though the site says that Tatum and Hardy werenā€™t happy with the latest version of the script. The film was reportedly on a tight schedule, leading Paramount to back out, with the stars not quite on board.

At one time eyed to be director Kathryn Bigelowā€™s follow-up to her Academy Award-winning The Hurt Locker,Ā Triple FrontierĀ wasĀ written byĀ that filmā€™s Mark Boal.Ā The story is set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge ā€“ making ā€œla triple fronteraā€ difficult to monitor and a haven for organized crime. The film was also set to starĀ Moonlightā€˜sĀ Mahershala Ali.

Among those attached to Triple FrontierĀ over the years are stars like Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks and Will Smith. Tatum is known for his work onĀ 21 Jump Street,Ā Magic Mike,Ā Hail, Caesar!, and as the voice of Superman inĀ The LEGO Movie. Hardy is known forĀ Mad Max: Fury Road,Ā Inception,Ā The Dark Knight Rises and the TV seriesĀ Taboo.
