Following yesterday’s report that had Matthew McConaughey joining the cast, Deadline now reports that Matt Bomer, too, has signed on for Magic Mike.
The “White Collar” actor joins McConaughey, Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer in the Steven Soderbergh film, which reteams Tatum and Soderbergh after their upcoming Haywire. The plot is inspired by Tatum’s real-life experiences working as stripper at age 19 in Tampa, Florida. Tatum will play “Magic Mike,” an experienced dancer who teaches a younger apprentice (Pettyfer) the tricks of the trade. Bomer is expected to play a male stripper as well.
The film will be produced by Nick Wechsler, Gregory Jacobs, Tatum and Reid Carolin, who is also writing the script.
