Mindy Kaling has signed on to appear in the currently-in-production comedy, Five Year Engagement, Variety reports.
The film, from director Nicolas Stoller, is said to be a bawdy, couples comedy, and charts the five-year engagement of a man (Jason Segel) and his fiancee (Emily Blunt), following the ups and downs of their relationship.
Kaling, who will play a grad student, is best known as both a writer and actress on “The Office” but has appeared in a number of features such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin and No Strings Attached.
The rest of the announced cast includes Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, Rhys Ifans, Lauren Weedman, David Paymer and Jackie Weaver. No release date has currently been announced.
