Isla Fisher appears ready to join the cast of Baz Luhrmann’s 3D adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, The Great Gatsby. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, saying that the actress is up for the part of Myrtle Wilson.
Myrtle, in the novel, is having an affair with Tom Buchanan, the husband of Daisy Buchanan, with whom Jay Gatsby is in love. Currently, Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Gatsby, Carey Mulligan to play Daisy and, though still not confirmed, Ben Affleck is likely to play Tom.
Fisher most recently appeared as the voice of Beans in Rango and will be providing the voice for another animated character in the upcoming Rise of the Guardians.
