Ridley Scott’s next project post-Prometheus could be a biopic of Gertrude Bell, Deadline is reporting.
Scott has brought aboard Jeffrey Caine, best known as the writer of The Constant Gardener, to develop a screenplay based on the life of Bell, an ambassadorial British writer who traveled the middle east in the first years of the 20th century, becoming a powerful figure in the political administration of the region.
A biopic of Bell is also being planned by Werner Herzog, who, last August, was rumored to have completed his screenplay.
Whether or not this is an immediate follow-up to Prometheus, though, remains to be seen as Scott has a number of projects potentially ready to move, including Forever War, Monopoly and Gucci.
