Walt Disney Pictures officially announced today at CinemaCon that their Monsters, Inc. follow-up will indeed be a prequel and will officially be titled Monsters University.
Featuring the characters that first appeared in the hit 2001 Pixar film, Monsters University will again cast the voice talents of John Goodman and Billy Crystal in the roles of Sully and Mike, presumably telling the tale of their first meeting and their scare-filled education.
Monsters University will arrive in 3D and 2D theaters on November 2, 2012, following the June 22nd release of Brave, Pixar’s first non-sequel since 2009’s Up.
