Variety reports that Summit Entertainment has plans to develop a body-swapping comedy entitled Unexpected and has brought on board Ian Deitchman and Kristin Rusk Robinson (the team behind Life As We Know It) to script.
The plot is said to involve a magical totem that switches the bodies of a husband and wife just as the couple learns that she is pregnant with their second child. Stuck in his wife’s body for the duration of the pregnancy, the husband must now carry the baby to term.
A longtime staple of fantasy comedies, body-switching is also slated to be the focus of Warner Bros.’ upcoming The Change-Up.
