Frances McDormand has signed on for Madagascar 3, according to a report at Heat Vision.
The film, the third entry in the successful DreamWorks Animation franchise that debuted in 2005, will feature McDormand as the film’s villain, an animal control officer who pursues the familiar cast of characters as they try to make it back to the New York zoo where they started.
The article also states that the heroes will wind up joining a traveling circus and that the cast will be rounded out by new animals, each with a different ethnicity.
Madagascar 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 18, 2012.
