ComingSoon.net has confirmed that Jeremy Renner has signed to star alongside Tom Cruise in Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible IV.
It is the second big part Renner has landed after his role in the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker. He’s also set to play Hawkeye in Marvel Studios and Paramount’s The Avengers, coming to theaters on May 4, 2012. Renner can next be seen in theaters in Ben Affleck’s The Town on September 17.
Production on the fourth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise is scheduled to begin this fall under the direction of Brad Bird. J.J. Abrams is producing the December 16, 2011 release with Cruise.
