Severance’s Tramell Tillman has joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 8.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Tillman will be playing a character in the eighth film in the ongoing Mission: Impossible franchise. Details about who Tillman will be playing are not being disclosed at this time.
Tillman is best known for playing Seth Milchick in Apple TV+’s Severance, which also stars Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, and Michael Chernus. He’s also appeared in a number of other television series such as 2018’s Dietland, 2019’s Godfather of Harlem, and 2020’s Hunters.
What do we know about Mission: Impossible 8?
Christopher McQuarrie is once again returning to write and direct Mission: Impossible 8. McQuarrie helmed the last few films in the Mission: Impossible franchise, including 2015’s Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, 2018’s Mission: Impossible — Fallout, and 2023’s Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One. McQuarrie also directed Tom Cruise in 2012’s Jack Reacher.
Not much is known about Mission: Impossible 8’s plot at this time. The movie was originally going to be called Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two; however, the “Dead Reckoning Part Two” part of the title was dropped in October 2023. A new subtitle has not yet been announced.
Cruise is once again reprising his role as Ethan Hunt in the movie. Joining Cruise and Tillman are Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Henry Czerny as Eugne Kittridge, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, Hayley Atwell as Grace, Esai Morales as Gabriel, Pom Klementieff as Paris, Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs, Greg Tarzan Davis as Degas, Mariela Garriga as Marie, Rolf Saxon as William Donloe, Holt McCallany as Bernstein, and Nick Offerman as Sydney.
Janet McTeer, Hannah Waddingham, Lucy Tulugarjuk, and Katy O’Brian are also playing undisclosed roles in the movie.
Mission: Impossible 8 releases in United States theaters on May 23, 2025, from Paramount Pictures.
