Starz Acquires One More Time, Starring Christopher Walken and Amber Heard
Starz announced today the acquisition of all North American distribution rights to One More Time and is planning a 2016 theatrical and on-demand release through Starz Digital, its multi-platform releasing team, followed by an exclusive TV premiere on STARZ.
Beautiful aspiring rock star Jude (Heard) is stuck in a rut – relegated to recording commercial jingles and lost in a series of one night stands. When she is evicted from her Brooklyn apartment, she is forced to move into the Hamptons home of her wealthy – and selfish – father Paul Lombard (Walken), an over-the-hill, Sinatra-esque crooner angling for a musical comeback. As the two reunite, Jude is forced to confront her problems, including troubled relationships with her father and overachieving sister (Garner), as well as her wobbly career and faltering love life. As Jude and Paul butt heads, they unexpectedly find themselves on a journey that may redefine their lives.
A comedic drama written and directed by Robert Edwards, One More Time stars Academy Award-winning actor Christopher Walken, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl, Pineapple Express), Kelli Garner (Horns, Lars and the Real Girl), Hamish Linklater (Battleship, Fantastic Four), Ann Magnuson, and Oliver Platt.
One More Time was produced by Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy of Parts & Labor, Ferne Pearlstein, Lucas Joaquin, Saemi Kim, Saerom Kim, and Chris Maybach, with Executive Producers Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur from K5 International, Lee Tae-hun of Opus Pictures, Eugene Lee of Zip Cinema, Thomas Benski and Lucas Ochoa of Pulse Films, and Robert Kaplan. The deal was in the works for the film, previously titled “When I Live My Life Over Again,” shortly after its 2015 Tribeca Film Festival premiere. CAA negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers.
