It’s only October so for Quentin Tarantino to offer his top ten of 2013 right now clearly makes it a “so far” list, so while it may be incomplete it’s still interesting, especially considering the addition of films such as Kick-Ass 2 and The Lone Ranger. I love the fact he has Before Midnight so high and of the films listed I actually haven’t seen Afternoon Delight or Drinking Buddies, the latter of which seems to be something a lot of people are enjoying.
Considering the number of high profile films still to come it’s actually a great time to make a top ten of the year as we await the release of the big boys still to come. Perhaps I’ll take Tarantino’s lead and do the same at the start of the week.
It’s also important to note, if you couldn’t tell, these are listed in alphabetical order so don’t get upset with the placement.
- Afternoon Delight (dir. Jill Soloway)
- Before Midnight (dir. Richard Linklater)
- Blue Jasmine (dir. Woody Allen)
- The Conjuring (dir. James Wan)
- Drinking Buddies (dir. Joe Swanberg)
- Frances Ha (dir. Noah Baumbach)
- Gravity (dir. Alfonso Cuarón)
- Kick-Ass 2 (dir. Jeff Wadlow)
- The Lone Ranger (dir. Gore Verbinski)
- This is the End (dirs. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg)
