Well, another young actor has passed away as Brittany Murphy died of a heart attack today at the age of 32. TMZ reports Murphy went into full cardiac arrest early Sunday and could not be revived.
The site reports a 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack. Apparently Murphy’s mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. The paramedics arrived, quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center — several miles away — and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Sources at The Hollywood Reporter have since confirmed the reports.
I first remember Murphy as Tai in Clueless in 1995 and more recently she voiced Gloria in Happy Feet and played Shellie in Sin City. IMDb lists three films for the actress in post-production including a small role in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables.
Murphy just turned 32 this past November 10.
