CS Videos: Liam Neeson & Maggie Grace are Taken

The range displayed over the years by actor Liam Neeson has turned him into an acting chameleon who can star in serious dramatic awards-worthy fare like Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List or the biopic Kinsey, but also appear in some of the most notable action franchises like Batman Begins and Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

Those two very different sides of the actor have been brought together by French action pioneer Luc Besson in Taken, an action-thriller directed by Besson’s former DP Pierre Morel (District B13). In the tense thriller, Neeson plays Bryan Mills, a former special operative whose 17-year-old daughter, played by Maggie Grace (from “Lost”), is kidnapped by a sex traffic ring while vacationing in Paris, forcing him to use all of his skills to get her back before she’s lost to him forever.

The movie combines the action that Besson has displayed going back to early films such as La Femme Nikita and The Professional, but it’s a little more based in reality than “The Transporter” movies with the tense drama that only an actor of Neeson’s caliber can deliver.

ComingSoon.net had a chance to talk on camera with both Neeson and Grace:

Taken opens nationwide on Friday, January 30.
