According to Deadline, Oscar nominee Liam Neeson has officially found his next action thriller movie in the form of a cross-country car chase movie titled Mongoose.
The upcoming movie will feature Neeson playing a veteran who embarks on a car chase with the police after getting falsely accused. The Taken actor most recently starred in two 2023 action thrillers, including Retribution and In the Land of Saints and Sinners. He is currently in production for Paramount Pictures’ long-in-development Naked Gun reboot.
“It follows Ryan ‘Fang’ Flanagan, a war hero who, accused of a crime he didn’t commit and with nothing to lose, leads police on an epic televised cross-country car chase, helped by members of his former Special Forces Army battalion and closely monitored by a fascinated public rooting for his safe getaway,” reads the synopsis.
Who’s involved in Mongoose?
Mongoose will be directed by veteran stuntman Mark Vanselow, who has been Neeson’s stunt double all of his Taken movies. It is written by Thompson Evans, with Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt, and Eugene Musso producing. It is executive produced by Jonathan Dana, Rich Freeman, Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel. The film hails from Code Entertainment, the producer behind Neeson’s Ice Road franchise.
“We are so very fortunate to be able to make another picture with the extraordinary Liam Neeson and the enormously talented Mark Vanselow. We look forward to another creative journey with our partners and friends,” Corley and Rosenblatt said in a statement.
Production is expected to begin in sometime in January 2025 in Australia.
