Academy Award nominee David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck) is set to join Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars, The Divergent Series: Insurgent), Chloë Grace Moretz (The Equalizer, If I Stay) and Academy Award Nominee Catherine Keener (Captain Phillips, Capote) in Sacha Gervasi’s (Hitchcock, Anvil: The Story of Anvil) November Criminals for Lotus Entertainment. Based on an adapted screenplay by Academy Award Nominee Steven Knight (Locke, Eastern Promises) from Sam Munson’s novel, the film begins production in Rhode Island and Washington, D.C. today.
Beth O’Neil (Jack Goes Boating) is producing alongside Erika Olde of Black Bicycle Entertainment and Lotus Entertainment, who is also handling international sales. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions acquired the film for the English-speaking world, as well as numerous international territories. Lotus Entertainment’s Ara Keshishian along with SPWA’s Executive Vice President Joe Matukewicz are overseeing production.
November Criminals follows two teenagers into the dangerous underbelly of Washington, D.C. as they investigate the murder of their friend while falling in love for the first time.
“This is a beautiful love story between two teenagers set against the backdrop of a murder mystery,” said Ara Keshishian, President of Lotus Entertainment, when the project was announced back in November, “and it’s thrilling to have an amazing cast taking shape…”
