IFC Films released an In a Violent Nature 2 poster today to announce the sequel to the indie horror movie.
The original slasher movie had the unique premise of following the killer, named Johnny, and focusing on his perspective rather than the victims. The slow-moving film drew comparisons to arthouse films and praise for its inventive and exceptionally gory kills. It grossed $4.4 million in theaters during its release.
Not much is known about In a Violent Nature 2 other than that Chris Nash will return to write it. A director and release date is not yet confirmed. Emily Gotto, Nicholas Lazo, and Samuel Zimmerman will oversee development of the horror film for Shudder, while Peter Kuplowsky and Shannon Hanmer serve as producers.
